Baby Bumblebee
This classic jingle/finger play is lots of fun for young children. There are many possible variations, but here are the basic verses:
Verse 1 (Children cupping their hands over one another as if holding something)
I’m bringing home my baby bumblebee,
Won’t my Mommy be so proud of me?
I’m bringing home my baby bumblebee,
Ouch! It stung me!
Verse 2 (Clapping hands together to smash the bee)
I’m smashing up my baby bumblebee,
Won’t my Mommy be so proud of me?
I’m smashing up my baby bumblebee,
Euugh, gross, it’s all over me! (Kids hold their hands up)
Verse 3 (Licking at hands)
I’m licking off my baby bumblebee,
Won’t my Mommy be so proud of me?
I’m licking off my baby bumblebee,
Yuck, that’s not tasty!
Verse 4 (Kids pretend to spit, with key emphasis on the word “pretend”)
I’m spitting out my baby bumblebee,
Won’t my mommy be so proud of me?
I’m spitting out my baby bumblebee,
All gone!
